Store Focus: Paranoid- Penang, Malaysia

The cazhmere crew just got back from their sojourn of Penang and made sure they peeped new concept store, Paranoid in Gurney Plaza. We caught up with owner Ivan Low who showed us his large range of tees, shoes, caps and collectibles. We were in Penang for family stuff so it wasn’t really a business trip for Cazhmere and Penang is a pretty tiny island so we werent expecting  much from the Penang streetwear scene. We did a bit of research and found out about Paranoid. This place brings it for being in such a small market like Penang.

The awesome thing about Malaysian streetwear stores like Paranoid is they stock stuff you never find in the Aussie market. They focus on big Asian streetwear brands that you can never find around OZ like Neighbourhood (which i had to get a tee of). Also their line of Original Fake stuff was insane. They had OF tees, sweaters, button downs, jeans and shorts and even a Kaws 4-footer for sale. They definitely have a different take on the streetwear scene than the Aussie stores which focus alot on the big low-mid range US brands like Crooks, Mishka, The Hundreds…

Paranoid go all out and get the best (i.e. most expensive) shit from all round the globe. They go hard and it definitely pays off. The store has a super sweet set up which suits their exclusive taste.

Big ups to our boy Ivan and the whole crew at Paranoid - keep up the good work fellas.
